AMD Ryzen 7 9700X is new leader on game performance

Ana sayfa / News

AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 7 9700X “Zen 5” CPU is reported to be approximately 10-15% faster in gaming performance compared to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D “3D V-Cache” chip. This 8-core CPU from AMD aims to compete notably against Intel’s Core i5-14600K and specifically AMD’s own Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

The Ryzen 7 7800X3D has been a top seller since its release, recognized for its efficiency and top gaming CPU status within its price range. However, the new Zen 5 chips are poised to challenge these older 3D V-Cache parts.

According to Mark Campbell from Overclock3d, the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X “Zen 5” Desktop CPU may surpass the Ryzen 7 7800X3D in gaming benchmarks. At AMD Tech Day, the company compared the Ryzen 7 9700X directly with the older Ryzen 7 5800X3D, showcasing up to 30% faster performance in games and an average of 12% faster compared to the 5800X3D.

"Dell will offer more productive AI solutions with AMD's Instinct MI300X AI accelerators on the new PowerEdge AI server."

The Ryzen 7 9700X CPU operates at a TDP of just 65W, marking a significant improvement not only in lower power consumption but also in reduced heat generation. AMD’s achievement of the Ryzen 7 9700X being 2% faster than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is quite surprising.

Expected to hit the market around September-October, the AMD Ryzen 9000X3D Zen 5 with 3D V-Cache is anticipated to deliver an additional 10-15% increase in gaming performance. Combined with the current Ryzen 7 9700X, users can expect excellent overall performance. Detailed reviews will be needed to see the full gaming potential of the Ryzen 7 9700X, but early reports are already generating excitement among gamers.
