According to Mark Campbell from Overclock3d, the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X “Zen 5” Desktop CPU may surpass the Ryzen 7 7800X3D in gaming benchmarks. At AMD Tech Day, the company compared the Ryzen 7 9700X directly with the older Ryzen 7 5800X3D, showcasing up to 30% faster performance in games and an average of 12% faster compared to the 5800X3D.
The Ryzen 7 9700X CPU operates at a TDP of just 65W, marking a significant improvement not only in lower power consumption but also in reduced heat generation. AMD’s achievement of the Ryzen 7 9700X being 2% faster than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is quite surprising.
Expected to hit the market around September-October, the AMD Ryzen 9000X3D Zen 5 with 3D V-Cache is anticipated to deliver an additional 10-15% increase in gaming performance. Combined with the current Ryzen 7 9700X, users can expect excellent overall performance.
